Virginia Baptist Foundation Scholarship Program has been able to offer scholarships each year to a variety of deserving Virginia Baptist young people because of the generous stewardship of many Virginia Baptists. The funds used to provide scholarships have come to the Foundation as bequests, outright gifts and testamentary trusts. Each donor has expressed confidence in the value of higher education, and particularly Christian education.  Some of the funds are restricted to provide scholarships for students who are pursuing specific fields of study, from certain areas of the state, and for attending certain colleges, universities or seminaries. Other funds are available to award at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee of the Virginia Baptist Foundation.

All of the scholarships awarded by the Foundation are annual scholarships.  Therefore, students must apply each year.  Generally, Foundation scholarships are limited to full-time students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs of study.  Further, because of stipulations placed upon many of the scholarship funds by their donors, the majority of the funds are restricted by various designations.   These designations are unique to the donor’s interests and are the most important aspect of the selection process.

The Foundation is committed to following the expressed wishes of its donors and to that extent has created scholarship qualifications, instructions and applications for potential recipients.  Please review all qualifications, instructions, as well as the application, all of which are available to download.
